The challenge of this project was to create a comfortable, two-bedroom family apartment with under 50 square meters of space. An existing mezzanine was stripped away to maximise the feeling of space and re-capture the ceiling heights of over three meters. Recessing an efficient kitchen into the wall and concealing kitchen storage and AV equipment in a matching pair of bookshelves created the illusion of space and consistency. Utilising under-stair headroom to accommodate a compact shower room and inserting a French window in line with the corridor made a second bedroom possible.
